《瘋狂麥斯：憤怒道》今天（14日）將在第68屆坎城影展的非競賽單元搶先放映，導演喬治米勒昨率領夏莉茲賽隆、湯姆哈迪及尼可拉斯霍特接受國際媒體訪問。夏莉茲被問到來到坎城心情直說：「好極了！」不少人看完電影後，大讚她的角色「芙莉歐莎」是電影主線，她笑說：「別說了！這讓我覺得壓力好大。」
夏莉茲帶著兒子傑克森來到坎城，臉上始終掛著愉悅笑容，她表示當初接拍《瘋狂麥斯》全衝著導演喬治，看了劇本才發現自己的角色相當有意思，「看著看著才發現『這女孩是誰啊？』」她表示自己很想知道，男性觀眾如何看待她在電影中強而有力的女性角色。
她認為喬治相當了解女性在社會中的地位，且不喜歡使用特效；一場她需輸血的戲，導演堅持要看到血液從管子流過，但拍了17次都無法達到想要的效果，把她搞得很累，她當下很想問導演：「可不可以直接用特效處理？」
湯姆哈迪接棒梅爾吉勃遜（梅伯）演出「麥斯」一角，湯姆笑說最初的反應是：「耶！」但回過神才覺得自己一定會被討厭，因為「梅伯」和「麥斯」是不可切割的經典；但他之後體悟該系列電影的世界、角色，都存在原創導演喬治腦中，「其實喬治才是『瘋狂麥斯』，我只是轉化導演的視野，不是要挑戰梅伯演技。」才打開心房，盡情投入演出。
